Board Communities Serve the East High Community

 ALUMNI RELATIONS, Chair: Richard Nelson

The Alumni Relations Committee is dedicated to keeping East High alumni connected to their alma mater.  We do this by:

  • Publishing a East High Spotlight annually, which will keep alumni connected to the news and events of East High School.
  • Working with class reunions and inviting them to return to East to visit the historical museum and witness the ongoing projects and programs.
  • Providing a clearing house for alumni to inquire about reunion issues, lost classmates and historical information.
  • Informing alumni about the many opportunities for becoming involved in the various alumni committees.

To inquire about alumni, history or reunion concerns contact: Richard Nelson  (dick_n_jan@yahoo.com) or 303-233-0426

This committee assists in making recommendations to phase out, amend, enhance or otherwise adjust EAFAF's committee projects to meet the needs of EAFAF as a whole. SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE, Chair:  Beth Gower

Since 1995, the Scholarship Committee has distributed Alumni Scholarships annually to outstanding graduating East seniors. Awards are based on specific qualifications (need-based and/or academic), recommendations, written application and an interview. The scholarship committee works hard to find additional funds to maintain a scholarship program. With dollars from alumni and many other generous contributors, a total of $275,500 as of 2011 has been distributed. All scholarship donations are tax-deductible as allowed by Federal tax code.

The Scholarship Committee is responsible for budgeting requests for scholarships, updating scholarship guidelines, updating and evaluating applications, student interviews, fundraising for additional scholarship monies and distribution of scholarship dollars.
